EYE EXAMINATIONS
Eye examinations are an essential part of keeping your eyes healthy. As an independent practice, we offer private eye examinations and NHS sight tests that assess your vision and create a detailed picture of your eye health as a whole.
We believe in personalising our service for every patient, so your optometrist may recommend additional tests or care.
OUR EYE TESTS
We understand that all of our patients have different requirements so we are proud to offer personalised eye examinations that ensure you get the care you need.
All of our eye examinations involve a set of core tests designed to assess your vision and eye health. Your optometrist will also ask you some basic questions about your vision, any medication you may be taking and if you have any relative who has suffered from eye conditions.
They may also recommend additional tests if appropriate. Your optometrist will then give you their recommendation and you will have the opportunity to ask any questions.
YOUR EYE HEALTH
At Mullens Opticians, your eye health is our top priority. We understand that having healthy eyes is affected by everything from diet to exposure to sunlight, so our service isn’t just about providing quality care and products but giving you the information you need to care for your own eyes. During your appointments, we invite you to ask our experienced team of optometrists about how you can keep your eyes healthy in your day-to-day life.
NHS ENTITLEMENTS
We welcome both private and NHS patients. Eye tests are free on the NHS to those who are entitled to one and we also accept NHS optical vouchers that reduce the cost of glasses or contact lenses.
To check whether you are eligible for a free sight test, please visit the NHS website, or ask one of our friendly team if you have any questions.
CHILDREN'S EYE TESTS
We offer comprehensive eye tests for kids, which are free for children under 16 and teens under 19 in full-time education through the NHS entitlement scheme.
Regular eye tests are an important part of taking care of your child’s health – they allow us to track their visual development and diagnose and treat any conditions that might be developing early on.
